The Performances for Adults

Jenni’s performances for adults are suitable for folk festivals, conferences and functions. Her stories work best in a quiet, focused environment. Then listeners can settle down, change gear and be transported by the magic of a good yarn, skillfully told.

The Myth Cycle of the Sumerian Goddess, Inanna

With passion, skill and a quirky wit, Jenni brings to life the myth of the Goddess Inanna (of ancient Iraq): her Courtship, Descent to the Underworld and her Return. Directed by Neal Cameron, this performance is designed for adults

Venus Calling: of Women, Love and Sexuality.

A mystical, stirring and humorous performance of stories, poetry and song- both original and traditional. There are stories of goddesses, trickster women, beastly women, wise women and the men who love them. Woven into the performance are tasty tidbits of history and imagery from our pagan past, as well as the sounds of the Zyladrum, a Brazilian rainstick and Middle Eastern zills.

The Sacred Business of Loving.

Mixing the old and the new with a rendition of Chaucer's Wife of Bath's Tale and a collection of myths, poems and songs about 'The Sacred Business of Loving', including the ballad Tamlyn.

Summer Solstice and Christmas Celebrated: Birth, Rebirth and Transformation: Tales of the Great Mother.

Listen to the sweet pagan tale of the Fairy at the Top of the Christmas Tree, birth and rebirth tales of the Great Mother and stories of the Summer Solstice.

Comments and Reviews:

“She deftly held her audience enthralled for more than 45 minutes without a break in the stream, to end in a storm of applause…Thank you Jenni and you sing beautifully too.”
